Tendulkar scored a scintillating 175 off 141 balls and such a knock deserved to be on the winning side. He carried on manfully even after losing Virender Sehwag (38), Gautam Gambhir (8), Yuvraj Singh (9) and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni (6) for 162 runs before the half-way stage and found in Suresh Raina (59) a lively partner who could hit big shots when required.

The world's leading six-a-side cricket tournament has received a boost with confirmation that Karp Group and Unirich Jewellery have come on board as the joint title sponsors of the event, to be known as the Karp Group & Unirich Jewellery Hong Kong Cricket Sixes.

First played in 1992, the Hong Kong Cricket Sixes is the longest- running international tournament of its kind and will this year celebrate its 15th edition. As such, the Sixes has been included by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as a 'Catch the Spirit' event to celebrate the global governing body's centenary celebrations.

First played in 1992, the Hong Kong Cricket Sixes is the longest-running international tournament of its kind and will this year celebrate its 15th edition. As such, the Sixes has been included by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as a 'Catch the Spirit 'event to celebrate the global governing body's centenary celebrations.

In the 2009 version of the Hong Kong Sixes the eight teams are divided into two groups, the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. The Northern hemisphere comprises India and her geographical rivals Sri Lanka and Pakistan, alongwith England. And in the Southern Hemisphere, hosts Hong Kong are grouped with New Zealand, Australia and South Africa.

Team India will see the likes of former Indian Captain Anil Kumble leading the charge with a host of talented players like the young and flambuoyant Manish Pandey, the 2005 player of the tournament Reetinder Singh Sodhi, Stuart Binny son of Roger Binny, Lakshmipathy Balaji, Sridharan Sriram and Jagadesh Arunkumar.

Defending Champions England would look to repeat their feat of last year and Runners Up Australia, would want supremacy over their historical rivals, no matter what format of the game. All these rivalries will just go to make the event even more dramatic. And six a side cricket never fails to capture the audience, be it spectators at the stadium or television audiences worldwide.
