1. Ohio State – This team looked very beatable in week one against Navy, but I’m not off the Buckeye bandwagon quite yet. Navy has kind of a tricky offense, and you give these guys all summer to prepare for their biggest game of the year and you know they are going to perform well. Ohio State on the other hand had to think this was a tune-up for next week’s all important game against USC. I’m willing to cut this team some slack and am anxious to see how they step up this week, when they are 6.5 point underdogs to USC.
2. Michigan - Are the Wolverines back? Tough to tell since they blew out a mediocre at best Western Michigan team, but I liked some of the things I saw. First, they did a great job of putting heat on the opposing quarterback. More importantly, Rich Rodriguez brought a couple of his guys in to run the offense and both of them looked better than anyone ever thought of performing a year ago. I guess we’ll find out just how good this team is when they play host to Notre Dame this week as 5 point underdogs.
