Cape Cobras Wins Over Royal Challenger In First Match Of Champion League

Cape Cobras stormed their way to a sensational victory against the Royal Challengers Bangalore, thanks to a brilliant unbeaten 99 by JP Duminy. Set 180 to win the tournament opener in Bangalore's Chinnaswamy Stadium, the South African side won by five wickets with two balls left in the final over.

Riding on an unbeaten 53 off 24 balls by Ross Taylor, Royal Challengers Bangalore posted an impressive 180-4 against South African side Cape Cobras in the opening game of the inaugural Champions League at the Chinnaswamy stadium here on Thursday.

After Anil Kumble elected to bat, Bangalore were jolted early with Jacques Kallis (eight) falling to Charl Langeveldt. But Robin Uthappa cracked some meaty blows to smash a 39-ball 51. Rahul Dravid (28) supported Uthappa well before the duo fell in quick succession.

However, Taylor plundered four fours and four sixes as Bangalore made merry in the final overs.
