The Rampage vs. Machida fight showed action from two former champions in the light heavyweight division looking to get back their crown.
"Rampage" won the first and second rounds on two of the three judges scorecards, while Machida definitively took the third, the round that saw the most action of the night. Some are calling into question the effectiveness of the ten-point must system due to the dominance displayed by Machida in the final frame.The fight showed once again the karate stance of Machida and Jackson trying to find an opening in his opponent's defense. All three rounds were close but Jackson's first two rounds of pressing the action helped lead him to victory.
